Honors Study Abroad

The honors programs encourage students to study abroad as a means to broaden and deepen their understanding of the world. The Honors College offers a City as Text™: Abroad in which global cities become our classroom. By actively engaging with their surroundings, making observations, and integrating what they learn, students enhance their knowledge of the countries and their people.

Students in the City as Text™: Abroad classes have travelled to many exciting places including:

  • Budapest, Hungary
  • Vienna, Austria
  • Zagreb and Split, Croatia
  • Warsaw and Krakow, Poland

Students in the University Honors Program can also fulfill three credits of their UHP elective requirement through some study abroad courses. Connect with your honors advisor for more details.

Sidney Nesbitt. Croatia, 2023

“My favorite part of studying abroad in Croatia was visiting Marjan Hills, a mountain in Split that was in a national park. I also really enjoyed learning about Southeastern culture and history as well as studying the lifestyles of individuals within the hostels. This experience consisted of Australian, Polish, and other European individuals who were able to share their perspectives of the world. Being in Croatia, I simply felt in awe of everything.”
