DJ is a member and Vice President of Exercise is Medicine and is a group fitness instructor with the department of recreation here at UNC Charlotte. His career goals are to work in rehab as a massage therapist, obtain his certificate of diploma in positive psychology, and establish a nonprofit “Empower 23”, which will have motivational speaking and mentoring to youth, collegiate, and professional groups. DJ hopes to represent the USA in the 2020 Paralympics games in Tokyo in Track and Field. DJ enjoys public speaking, poetry, and break dancing. He has developed a workshop to help dancers, professionals, and educators develop and foster a deeper understanding of body awareness in time and space to help better understand the world around them.
