Shely Acosta

Shely Acosta, originally from Miami, Florida, moved to North Carolina about six years ago. She is pursuing a goal to become a Neurosurgeon, with aspirations of earning a Ph.D. in Neurobiology. As an active leader in Global Medical Brigades and SACNAS, Shely is dedicated to advancing research on breast cancer inflammation and engaging in medical volunteering to assist impoverished communities around the world. Currently she is working at a neurosurgical clinic, In her free time, Shely enjoys swimming, hiking, and spending quality time with her friends and family.
