Cassie is an active member of numerous campus clubs and organizations including the University Honors Program, the Education Honors Program, Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education, Disciples on Campus (Vice President), and Charlotte Dance Marathon (Family Relations Chair). During the summer of 2016, Cassie participated in the Wonderland: 100 Years of Children’s Literature study abroad program at King’s College London in London, England. In addition Cassie has had the opportunity to travel in the time at UNC Charlotte traveling to both Montreal, Canada during the spring of 2014 as a member of UNC Charlotte’s Chamber Orchestra and to Novosibirsk, Russia for a month during the summer of 2015 as a part of the Hope Youth Corps. Cassie has also participated in undergraduate research while working on her Honors in Education Thesis. The topic of her research is childhood cancer outcomes in low-income countries and methods to improve the outcomes. In her free time Cassie enjoys yoga, craft projects, and playing musical instruments and can play a total of seven, including the piano, violin and guitar. Cassie also loves working with Children and works as a nanny in Charlotte.
