Cindy Gilson, Ph.D.

Associate Professor and Associate Dean

Dr. Cindy M. Gilson, Associate Dean of the Honors College and Professor of Gifted Education, joined the Niner Nation community in 2014 as a faculty member in the Cato College of Education’s Special Education and Child Development Department. From 2014-2024, she taught courses in Gifted Education, and served as the Director for the Graduate Certificate in AIG (Academically or Intellectually Gifted) Program and Co-Director for the Honors in Education Program. In 2024, she became the Associate Dean of the Honors College where she supports the daily operations of the University Honors Program. Dr. Gilson enjoys teaching honors courses on topics related to creativity and creative problem solving, and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students on their inquiry projects.
