HONORS IN LANGUAGES & CULTURE STUDIES

Students who are pursuing a degree in Spanish have the option to earn honors by completing research within the department. This research, which can be completed in English or Spanish, will have to be successfully defended, while students also strengthen their undergraduate experience through internship or study abroad credit and develop additional language skills.
When can I apply?
Students may apply at the beginning of their sophomore year.
What are the GPA requirements?
You must maintain a 3.0 overall GPA and a 3.5 GPA in departmental courses.
What are the curricular requirements?
Students must earn an A in SPAN 4700 to graduate with honors. You must also have six (6) hours of internship for credit and/or study abroad, and have taken an additional language at least through 2202 (the end of the Intermediate level).
