Avangelyne is working to bring together aspects of social work and the legal profession to go into policy-level social work. She hopes to continue learning about and growing her capacity to address systemic issues such as systemic racism (specifically through mass incarceration), lack of inclusion for people with intellectual or developmental disabilities (IDD), and access to resources in low-income communities. Avangelyne holds leadership positions for UHP, Best Buddies at UNC Charlotte, and College Mentors for Kids and was selected as one of four UNC System Marian Drane Graham Scholars.
